Get to know the Dominican Republic in its raw form, visiting sites in and around Boca de Yuma. On this tour around the eastern Dominican Republic, you’ll step back in time to Hispaniola, the name the island was originally known by. You’ll visit sites including the cave where Sir Francis Drake is said to have hidden from the Spanish, the house of Juan Ponce de Leon (the man who discovered Puerto Rico), a rural home with a medicinal plant garden and Saint Hut, as well as a river boat ride through a natural Pelican Sanctuary! Following lunch we’ll head in to the city for a look at how the locals live. Once there we’ll take you to the National Basilica and to the Local boy’s shelter, which the cost of your tour helps to sponsor! You’ll see every side of the Dominican Republic on this all-inclusive day around the island.
