It was a typical Friday night. A friend of mine, Juan Mendoza, and I had made plans for happy hour at Mainevent. He decided to invite Lupe that night. We all meet at Mainevent and start off by playing pool. Lupe was quite shy that night. I was awestruck by how one can be so quiet! After a couple of rounds of pool, I finally had Lupe laughing and talking.

We had spent the rest of the weekend together getting to know one another. Late night phone calls, random trips to IHOP at strange hours, you name it, we went anywhere just to meet up and talk the night away. After a couple of weeks, we made it official and started dating. We were inseparable!!

Finally, after years of waiting, Lupe popped the question! It was simple and intimate.

It was a Saturday morning. Neither one of us wanted to get out of bed. The television was on and we were both laughing and talking as if we haven't before. It was that moment when Lupe looked me in the eyes and smiled. His hand touching my cheek and the warmth of his body pressed up against mine. He stared and said, "Vanessa, you make me so happy. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" My eyes began to water and of course I said yes!

After that morning, we headed over to my parents house. He asked for my dad's blessing for my hand in marriage and without a doubt, my father accepted. My mother and father started welcoming Lupe into the family.

We will be having a destination wedding!

Lupe and I will be getting married May 18, 2015 at the Scarsdale Justice of the Peace Court.

A month later, we will be sailing to Cozumel, Mexico begginning June 15, 2015 - June 20, 2015 and having the ceremony June 18, 2015.

On June 26, 2015, we will have a small reception at Rincon Real Reception Hall in Houston for our family and friends who were not able to join us for the cruise.
