OUR ADVENTURE

How We Met: We met at Bloomsburg University in 2018 during our freshman year of college. We were on separate intramural teams that combined for an indoor volleyball team where we first met and became good friends. We slowly began to see each other more frequently and realized there was something special there. One night, we went to get food, played games in the game room and then walked around campus for a few hours. We love going on walks together and this is where it all started. Later that week, Abby made the first move and asked Matthew on a date. We went on our first date to West End Ale Haus in Bloomsburg and the rest is history!

Our Proposal: (From Matthew's perspective) On April 8th, 2023, I proposed to the most amazing person in my life, and I’ll take you through the whole experience! We went home to Delaware on a weekend and on that Saturday, Abby went with my sister, Katelyn, who I trusted to keep this BIG secret (the same person who couldn't keep a secret to save her life when we were younger) to go get their nails done and go shopping. While Abby was distracted, I set up hanging lights with pictures from all the adventures from our entire relationship. Candles lined the walkway where she would walk to me under the tree in my backyard. Abby's family as well as my own were all in on the surprise, so they were all there when it happened. She walked through the door and was completely caught off guard. I held her in my arms and expressed how I loved her so much and I couldn't wait to spend my life with her. I got down on one knee and asked this incredible girl to marry me. She said yes (obviously)!

Relationship Timeline: We spent four years of college together and graduated from Bloomsburg. After graduating, we moved into out first apartment together in Syracuse, NY. Matthew completed his masters degree in Speech Pathology while Abby completed her masters in Reading Education while working at an elementary school as a 2nd grade teacher. We have gone on so many adventures together with ourselves and family members with plenty of memories to fill a lifetime. We have loved traveling and creating new experiences with each other, and we have always looked for new adventures to share.  After the wedding, we will continue these adventures with some quality time in Tampa, FL and then a cruise to the Western Caribbean islands including Mexico, Honduras, and Belize! 

We look forward to an evening full of laughs, smiles, and memories with friends and family! We are excited to have everyone at our wedding and to be a part of this chapter in our love story! We hope you enjoyed learning a little about our story!
