I was born in Greeley Colorado to Larry & Katie Salazar. I have one sister, Katy Ann Salazar. I was raised in a rural farming community about 50 miles north of Denver. I attended Valley High School in Gilcrest, and then graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1987. I have 2 sons and a daughter; Leonard Garcia, D'yon Salazar, and Amber Garcia. I have 4 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.

I've worked most of my life in the public sector, as a Case Manager with the Department of Social Services. I've been a Victim's Advocate with the Greeley Police Department and the Weld County District Attorney's Office. I've been a Parent Educator with the Child Advocacy Resource and Education Center and I have been the Director of a non-profit Christian-based Diaper Ministry operated through the Adventure SDA Church. I have received my education through Front Range Community College, Aims Community College, and Metro State University in Denver.

To say I have a "Server's Heart" is an understatement, as I truly feel a sense of self-gratification and fulfillment in serving others. 

I was born in Maywood California to Oscar & Eva Perez.  I have 2 sisters and a younger brother; Norma Perez, Ofelia Barrera, and Carlos Perez. I was raised in Whittier California, about 12 miles south east of Los Angelas.

I attended St. Paul Catholic High School and I graduated in 1984.

I have a daughter and twin sons, Alaina Prestwood, Jacob & Alex Perez.

After high school, I joined the The United States Air Force 1984. I was stationed in Cheyenne Wyoming and was on active duty for 10 years.

After my time in the Air Force, I obtained employment with Union Pacific Railroad, where I have maintained employment for the past 25 years, as a kick-ass locomotive engineer.
