It all began in sweatpants!
Cory and I met through a mutual friend. I remember her telling me all about him and that we needed to meet. She told me he had been cruising my facebook page and he was interested, so he made his move.
I had received a message from Cory on Facebook on February 1st, 2010, our first conservation. I saved the messages. His exact words, “Hey Lisa, what’s up you?! Just stopping by to say hi, hope you had a good day!” I immediately messaged back, “Hey thanks for saying hi, heard you might want to go out with us (me and my friend) sometime. You totally should!!! It would be nice to meet you, put a face to the name lol” He writes back “Yeah that sounds cool, we should do something fun soon! What do you got going on tonight?” Since we had been messaging on facebook, I had missed his last message. I was bummed when I discovered that he might have wanted to do something and I missed it.
I was out bowling with the “friend” a couple weeks later. She said Cory had texted her and wanted us to come over after we bowled so we could finally meet. She told him we would. I said “Ummmmmm NO!!! I'm wearing sweatpants!!" She told me he would be totally bummed if we didn’t go and that he had been bugging her to meet me. She reassured me that I was beautiful and that Cory wouldn’t care what I was wearing………. Yea!! Right!!! He cared!! Lol
So, I showed up in sweatpants!! To my defense though I had just gotten my hair done that day and my sweatpants were nicer than normal, I wore them with cute fur boots. I was at the bowling alley……not fancy!
I walked up to the front door, heart pounding and nervous!!! He greeted me with a huge hug and said “FINALLY!!” He showed me around is house, we talked and had a few drinks. We were starting to loosen up and get comfortable around each other, I’m sure the drinks helped. My friend mentioned she liked my new hair-do. Cory said “You got your hair done but yet you wore sweatpants!” I died laughing!! The night ended, he walked us to the door, watched me get into my friend’s car and shouted “Take care of those split ends and those are some awesome sweatpants!” I looked at my friend and said “What did he say?!”
I was smitten, Cory and I had an instant connection. I knew I wanted to see him again. Our first date was on Valentine's Day.
The rest is history!!! I have YET to live down the sweatpants though, which he just recently brought up at our bridal shower. It was part of a game we had played, everyone had to write down one of thier first memories of me. As I was reading it I instantly teared up, so naturally I had to tell the story. I tell everyone Cory fell in love with me even wearing a pair of sweatpants, yeah I make those look good too! Lol!! I absolutely can’t wait to marry my best friend and to share our day with all of you!!!
