The day was Labor Day.

The day before Cory had called my parents to ask if they would be home, along with my sister, he wanted to ask them all. My mother knew instantly after hanging up that he was coming over to ask for my hand. She sat up a chair and got the camera ready. She captured the most beautiful picture of Cory and my father shaking hands to seal the deal, she presented it to me at our bridal shower.

The next day of course was Labor Day. Cory had planned for us to head out to our friend and best man’s houseboat for the day in Pointe Place. He told me I should ask my sister to come along with us, so I did. I had thought nothing of it just thought we were going out to celebrate the holiday and have a great time. When we arrived at the house boat, Cory had told us girls to go hang out at the pool while the guys chilled out at the boat. When in reality he was setting things up. Cory never appeared nervous or out of character during this time either.

After hanging out by the pool us girls headed to the boat to see what our men had been up to. When I arrived Cory had made me a drink with my ring in it, which I did not see. I get on the boat and I notice a video playing on the TV, it was a collage of pictures of Cory and me. This was something typical Cory would do, I thought he had made an end of summer video of us and our friends, but after watching it for a while I noticed there were no photos of my friends on the video and people started to crowd on to the boat. Before I knew it the video had ended, Cory was down on one knee in front of me proposing!!!! And of course I had said YES!!! I was in complete and overwhelming shock!! Until I realized, where is my ring?!
